President’s Message
When I think of the Women’s Club of BG, many things immediately come to mind: friendship, support, compassion, service and camaraderie. Last year threw many difficult challenges at us as individuals, as a community and as a club. Yet, what I witnessed was a club that rose to the challenge, that stepped up to meet the needs of our fellow community members and provided support to one another during a time when social connections were difficult and friends/family/loved ones seemed so far away.
Members volunteered to assist with donation drives to support local organizations that saw a rise in need. Members helped ensure food pantries remained stocked, collected blankets to keep people warm and basic need items for domestic violence survivors. In addition, club members helped with planting flowers to keep Bowling Green beautiful. Cards and care packages were delivered to local nursing home residents to brighten their days and remind them in the midst of social isolation, they were not alone. Members reached out to one another to check in to offer friendship and support when we could not be together. “Not for self, but for others.” This is more than a motto for the BG Women’s Club, it is a way of life of each member.
In 2020, the Women’s Club of BG celebrated 100 years of supporting women, supporting the community and making a difference in the countless lives of others. The Women’s Club of BG has so much to celebrate. I, for one, am proud to be a member and call the Women’s Club of BG home. I look forward to all we will accomplish this year. Together, we can! Hope you will join us!
~ Kathy Mull, President 2021 -2023

The GFWC Women’s Club of Bowling Green awards two scholarships a year. One to a music student at BGSU and one to a graduating senior at Bowling Green High School. The Club also donates to the BG Food Pantry and Cocoon shelter on a regular basis throughout the year. We have been sponsoring the Annual Creative Writing Contest for students in Bowling Green schools for 30 years.
