“Not for Self, But for Others”

The GFWC Women’s Club of Bowling Green awards two scholarships a year.  One to a music student at BGSU and one to a graduating senior at Bowling Green High School.  The Club also donates to the BG Food Pantry and Cocoon shelter on a regular basis throughout the year.  We have been sponsoring the Annual Creative Writing Contest for students in Bowling Green schools for 30 years.

Living the Volunteer Spirit is not just a slogan for the Women’s Club of Bowling Green, it is the reality.  The Club gives women in this area the opportunity to give back to our community as a group in ways that one person might not be able to do. When I think of our Club, I think of a wonderful group of ladies who have unending compassion, knowledge, inspiration and dedication.  I know I am a better person for being a part of this special group.  Together we make a difference.

The general meetings, doing special projects or attending a literature group or garden group meeting gives the opportunity to make new friends and to spend time with old friends.  There is something for everyone and it is easy to get as involved as your time will allow.

We will be celebrating our 100thyear in 2020.  It is truly amazing to see how much the various service projects of the Club have impacted the community over the past 99 years.  We plan to keep that level of service going for the next 100 years.  Come join us!
